About Screwball Spaces, LLC

Screwball Spaces, LLC provides New York City visual artists affordable studio space with amenities within a vibrant community of working artists. 99 studios are situated on an enormous 40,000 square foot floor of a large industrial warehouse (circa 1923) along with a gallery, spray room, ceramics area & roof deck.

Other amenities include private studios with floor-to-ceiling walls and locking door, keyed elevator & stairs, 24/7 access, 6' wide hallways, communal carts, ladders and scaffolding, communal refrigerators, microwaves, drink vending machines, two T-1 wireless internet lines, slop sinks, new bathrooms, trash removal and recycling.

Artists are encouraged and supported in sharing their work voluntarily through onsite gallery shows, local open studios bwac.org and an annual Screwball hosted Holiday Art Sale. Josh Marks, the operating manager, has a space on the floor and as an artist himself lends insight & empathy to the needs and interests of his studiomates. History

Screwball Studios, LLC was created in August of 2005 to offer clean & secure workspace to approximately 70 artists in 50 studios. Screwball Spaces, LLC was created in November 2008 to expand the mission of Screwball Studios by offering more amenities in even more affordable spaces.
